Katerina waits by her gate in Krasnaya Polyana (beautiful meadow) for the district doctor to visit her home. She lives alone in her home in the contaminated zone with little food and her feet are too sore to travel to the forest for wood for her fire. Only about 10 old people live here having returned after the evacuation.
