A nurse delivers bedridden children their lunch in a sanitarium in Vitebskaya Oblast in Belarus. The boys are suffering from a rare crippling bone disease and in order for their hip joints to heal they must remain tied to their beds for three years where they eat sleep and receive their education. A $250 leg brace would allow them to go home and live a normal life.
